We have mostly reviewed skills this week. We are reviewing letter sounds to help us with reading and spelling, and number bonds for 10 in math. In addition, I have begun assessing the students' reading, writing, and math skills to plan appropriate instruction as the year progresses.
We worked on a couple of community building activities. Students collected autographs from their classmates and made a classroom name book. Also, we completed several alike and different graphs to discover our similarities and differences.
On Friday, students presented their "me bags" to help us learn more about each other. It was a good way to get to know each other and practice speaking in front of a group
As part of our classroom incentive program students earned more smiley faces than sad faces today, and they received a personal set of Wikki Stix as a reward.
