Thank you for your kind notes and gifts. Also, thank you for the parents who stepped up and helped out on field day. It really helped make the day go smoothly. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for all of you who give so generously of your time and talents.
Our last week of school was an exciting change of our usual routine. On Monday we finished up our geometry unit and then played board games. Students played together cooperatively and fairly. On Tuesday we had our Earth Science Day. Students rotated through all the second grade classrooms to learn about rocks and fossils. Then, on Wednesday, we had field day in the morning. Again, students played a variety of games, but this time outdoors. When the games were finished we returned to the classroom and relaxed while watching “Finding Nemo.” We finished Nemo on Thursday and enjoyed a number of snacks donated by parents. In addition, Thursday was the last day of school. We cleaned our desks with shaving cream, emptied our pencil boxes, signed yearbooks and packed up all our personal belongings. All too soon it was time to say goodbye to each other and hello to summer.
