We had an assembly about science on Tuesday. We learned about states of matter. Randall said that matter comes in three states. One state is a solid. The molecules are close together, so a solid keeps its shape. Another state is called liquid. The molecules are loose and allow liquid to flow. The third state is gas. These molecules are spread out and travel into the air. When Randall mixed two things he created a gas. He mixed baking soda and vinegar. Then a balloon filled with the gas that the two made. We discovered that sublimation is a chemical process when a solids turns straight into a gas. It was an informative and educational assembly.
